I am not ashamed of the Gospel,
for it (the Gospel) is the power of God ... (Rom 1:16)
As we pray, we are expecting God to move in our hearts and in the hearts of our community.
Take a moment to think about the power of the Gospel. The Good News (Gospel) is this: Jesus died on the cross to pay for sin and He was raised from the dead to give us new life.
This message seems foolish to those who do not know Christ. Many have heard parts of the message
theyve heard of the cross, they know that He died and that we believe He was raised from the dead. But, they cannot understand how something that happened so long ago can make a difference today.
For those of us being saved
this message is the power of God (1 Cor 1:18).
It is amazing to think how this message has so much power
trusting in Jesus changes everything! Your eternal home (heaven or hell) is changed. The guilt of our sin is removed and God replaces our heart of stone with a soft heart full of love for others.
Think about it. One day, a person can be running down the road to death and destruction - empty, controlled by evil, with no understanding of God. Then, just by hearing of what happened almost 2,000 years ago, their entire life and destiny is changed forever!
Father, thank You for changing my heart through the Gospel of Christ. I am amazed to think of how You changed me through the message of the cross. Remind me, today, that the Message of the cross is powerful enough to change any life.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
